APPALACHIAN STATE MASTER PLAN

Professional Work at Duda Paine Architects: Uniting Nature and the Urban Environment

Team: Lindsey Trogdon with consultants Michael Cole Campus Planning, Cole Jenest & Stone, Davenport, and Stanford White Associates (2016)

The Appalachian State Master Plan outlines the broad physical framework for Appalachian State’s diverse neighborhoods. Taking a cue from the natural assets and sustainability goals of the university, it creates three organizing spines that link neighborhoods throughout campus. They are: the River Walk, which showcases Boone Creek along Rivers Street; the Events Corridor, which links together social and collaborative spaces throughout campus; and the Arts Walk, which links the University venues and arts with the surrounding town.

The Master Plan 2025 initiatives define five key master plan projects to enhance the physical framework of Appalachian State University and to serve as a call for action in the next 10 years of campus growth.
